In mountain areas, anthropic pressure is growing while, concurrently, landslide frequency in most of the regions world increasing due to a more extreme precipitation pattern and permafrost deglaciation. Because budget constraints, need investigate innovative low-cost countermeasures for risk becoming pressing. this context, Passo della Morte area (North-East Italy) perfect benchmark case. It comprises an extensive, long-term database monitoring data that allows testing hypotheses validating them. Based on data, strong correlation between velocity displacement discharge Rio Verde stream was found. According evidence, local authorities have started construction completely mitigation strategy. focused triggering factor by identifying significant component flow rate cuts through landslide. addition, aiming reduce cost maintenance, strategy coupled with micro-hydropower plant can provide economic revenue exploiting itself produce electricity. Considering active system will be used verify effectiveness countermeasure, case study could become starting point implementing pioneering solution similar morphologies.
